Pure Speed is coached by Kent Mennem. This is Coach Kent’s second season in coaching the team since the beginning of Pure Speed. Kent is a certified Level 1 USA Track and Field Coach. He will continue with his coaching education up to level 3.
Kent is an experienced sprinter and jumper who began competing on the USATF national level at the age of 10. Kent has 5 Oklahoma State Track and Field Championship titles, 3 Medford High School records, and was on 2 school record breaking relays at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
Kent’s parents Loren and Patty Mennem were coaches of the USATF Youth Track Club the Grant County Silver Bullets. His brother, who was an All-American long jumper, was assistant coach at Medford High School. Kent’s sister, Leslie Mennem, was an All-State High Jumper.
Kent created Pure Speed Track and Field Club in the spring of 2005 after leaving the Oklahoma State University Track team. Kent continues to coach, manage, and compete for Pure Speed.
